The Middle East will run out of oil as fast as it will run out of sand. Which is never. The rise of electric cars and the electrification of transportation in general will mean that oil will probably never run out. But the profits that oil producing countries get from oil sales will fall drastically. I really don't know why people are so concerned about what will happen when oil should run out in Dubai. Dubai does not rely on oil! Oil just makes around 6% of Dubai's wealth and years ago already Dubai focussed on foreign investment, tourism, finance, etc. The oil is in Abu Dhabi and not Dubai. A report by Citigroup has warned that Saudi Arabia could run out of oil to export by 2030, raising fears that oil prices may rise significantly in coming years. The Kingdom is the world’s largest oil producer, accounting for about 13pc of global supply, but it may need to use a growing share Sir Richard warned other Gulf countries by saying that oil reserves were fast depleting and that they should follow the example set by Dubai. "In five years time Dubai will run out of oil, but it has diversified its assets and interests enough with 95% of its income derived from tourism, property and music shops," he joked.
